About Viasat
Viasat dropped its two-year contracts and hard data caps, making it more flexible than it used to be. Latency remains the physics problem of geostationary orbit (~600 ms), so real-time gaming and video calls suffer; for basic connectivity beyond cable/fiber/5G reach, it competes with HughesNet on price and Starlink on nothing but entry cost.
