At home and at select hotspots, Xfinity’s WiFi PowerBoost can raise speeds for browsing, streaming and downloads, with nothing to set up.

Before you add a line
Xfinity’s own wireless service. It rides a nationwide cellular network, hands off to Xfinity’s WiFi hotspots (more than twenty million of them) where it can, and is only available on an account that already has Xfinity Internet, which is why we start with your address. The line is run from the Xfinity app and appears on the internet bill.
The offer rides on the internet plan. With an eligible Xfinity Internet plan, a single new line is free for twelve months and afterwards bills at its plan’s regular rate. You still pay taxes and fees on it, and whether you qualify depends on the plan and service address; we check both.
Two, and both need Xfinity Internet. Mobile Select is the base: no US limit on talk, text or data, and coverage in 215-plus destinations abroad. Mobile Plus adds 4K video, built-in device protection, a guaranteed discount on each year’s upgrade and spam-call protection. Each starts at a lower first-year price for Xfinity Internet customers before moving to its regular rate.
In four places only. Plus streams video in 4K Ultra HD rather than HD, builds in device protection, gives a guaranteed discount on a yearly upgrade and screens spam calls. Everything else matches: hotspot data, WiFi PowerBoost, unlimited talk and text inside the US and use in more than 215 destinations. Someone who keeps a phone for years has less reason to pay for Plus.
In most cases. Many unlocked phones work on Xfinity Mobile if the model is compatible, and bringing a number from another carrier is handled as part of activation. We look up your model on the call; the number itself moves over when Xfinity activates the line.
Not a hard one; no amount of data use cuts the service off. Video on Select plays in HD and on Plus in 4K Ultra HD. At congested times, heavy users on unlimited plans can have speeds reduced for a while after passing a usage threshold, which carriers commonly do.
