Authorized Dealer

Ordering DIRECTV from an authorized dealer or direct

Guide · Updated September 9, 2026 Written by an authorized dealer, about dealers

Short version

The service is the same whichever way you order. DIRECTV sets the packages, promotions and prices, and they are the same offers at directv.com and through an authorized dealer; either way DIRECTV fulfills the order, installs, bills and supports the service. What changes is how you buy: with a dealer, one person looks up your address, compares the options that reach it, and can be called back afterward.

What an authorized dealer is

A dealer is an independent business that DIRECTV contracts to sell its services. If you order through us, DIRECTV pays us a commission; you pay us nothing, and what you pay DIRECTV is DIRECTV’s own price. The account is a DIRECTV account from the first day, with DIRECTV’s installers, billing, equipment and customer service.

Dealers have sold DIRECTV for decades, next to DIRECTV’s own sales channels. As for who owns the company: TPG, a private-equity firm, took full ownership of DIRECTV, LLC on July 2, 2025, completing its purchase of the 70% stake AT&T still held; the price was reported at about $7.6 billion.

What does not change, dealer or direct

Part of the serviceAny difference?
Packages and channel countsNone; DIRECTV decides them
Prices and promotionsNone in price: DIRECTV sets it and we add nothing. A promotion DIRECTV runs only on its website may not be available by phone; we will say if that applies.
InstallersNone; DIRECTV books and sends them
Your bill and accountNone; the account and the bill are DIRECTV’s
Gemini and Gemini Air equipmentNone; identical devices and lease terms
Help after you sign upNone; DIRECTV supports the service

A dealer cannot get you a hidden discount, and we will not suggest otherwise. A site advertising prices below DIRECTV’s own is a warning sign rather than a deal.

Where a dealer helps

  1. The address check. We look at what reaches your address first: the broadband providers the FCC data lists there, which decides whether streaming is practical, and what DIRECTV sells at that location. Then streaming, satellite and Genre Packs are priced with each fee named, in English or Español.
  2. A number you can call back. The phone number you ordered on is the one to use afterward if a question about the order comes up.
  3. Current promotions only. We quote the offers DIRECTV is running on the day you call and tell you which ones your order qualifies for.
  4. A straight answer on fit. If a Genre Pack, or no TV package at all, suits you better, we tell you so, even though it means no sale.

Checking whether a dealer site is legitimate

Dealer sites vary in quality. A legitimate DIRECTV dealer page will:

  • State that it is an independent authorized dealer, near the top of the page rather than only in the footer;
  • Give the legal business entity behind the site;
  • Carry current, dated pricing, each price shown with its fees;
  • Avoid claiming to be DIRECTV, promising prices below DIRECTV’s, or advertising things DIRECTV does not sell (DIRECTV has no satellite internet, for one, and NFL Sunday Ticket has moved to YouTube);
  • Link to actual privacy, TCPA and disclaimer policies.

Hold this site to the same list: it is run by EZMove Services LLC, its DIRECTV prices were last checked on September 9, 2026, and each fee we know of sits beside the price it applies to.

So which should you use?

Whichever you prefer; the service does not change. A dealer is worth it when you want your address checked and the options compared by someone you can call, and the checklist above works on any dealer site, this one included.
