What the network is
Spectrum Internet® is powered by fiber and connected to the premises by coaxial lines.
The FCC filing names the technology; Spectrum confirms the address.
In Spectrum’s own description the network is fiber-powered: fiber carries traffic across it, and coaxial lines connect it to each home. When Spectrum files with the FCC, it reports that delivery technology and a top advertised speed for every location it says it can serve, and those reports are what our ZIP search summarises.
A filing cannot tell you the speed you will see indoors, and Spectrum’s own terms say actual and wireless speeds vary. What does hold on every tier is the data policy: no cap and no overage fee, however much the household uses.
No Spectrum Internet tier meters your usage: there is no monthly allowance and no overage fee.
Every tier includes the modem, and Spectrum charges no rental fee for it.
No residential Spectrum plan charges an early termination fee. The 1-year price guarantee binds Spectrum’s price, not you.
It follows the number of Spectrum services on the account: one service, 1 year; two, 2 years; three, 3 years. Adding Mobile or TV to Internet lengthens it.

Choosing a tier
Three things decide it: how many devices are busy at the same moment, what they are doing, and how well WiFi covers the house. A rough guide to each tier follows.

Enough for web browsing, video calls and standard-definition video on one or two screens together, which suits one person or a small household. If the complaint is weak signal in some rooms rather than speed, Advanced WiFi at $10/mo may help more than moving up to Internet 500.

$40/mo for 1 year — middle tier
For a household with a few people on at the same time: 4K video in the living room, a video meeting upstairs, a console and several phones. Advanced WiFi costs $10/mo on this tier and is included when you bundle.

Advanced WiFi pairs a WiFi 7 router with app controls, a list of what is connected and Spectrum’s Security Shield layer.
Everything is handled in the My Spectrum App: see what is connected, give devices priority and set up a guest network, all without a router admin page.
Spectrum describes Security Shield as an AI-based layer inside Advanced WiFi that watches network traffic for unusual activity and flags threats. Advanced WiFi does not prevent all forms of identity or data theft.
On these two tiers Advanced WiFi is a $10/mo add-on. Included free with any bundle.
Advanced WiFi is part of Spectrum Internet® 1 Gig at no extra charge, so there is nothing to add.
Bundle Internet with TV, Mobile or Voice and Advanced WiFi is included free regardless of which Internet speed you choose.

For rooms the router does not reach, Spectrum offers WiFi 7 Extenders at $5/mo per extender and rates each one at up to 2,000 sq ft; they work with Advanced WiFi. Elimination of all dead spots is not guaranteed: walls, floors and long distances can still weaken coverage.

The entry tier, Spectrum Internet 100 (100 Mbps), is $30/mo for 1 year where Spectrum serves your address. Internet 1 Gig is $60/mo, with Internet 500 (500 Mbps) between them at $40/mo; all three come with a 1-year price guarantee. Spectrum's standard rate follows the promotion, and the price for your address is confirmed when you order.
No. Spectrum sets no monthly data allowance on any Internet tier, the $30 Internet 100 plan included, so there is nothing to run over and no overage fee. The modem costs nothing either. Advanced WiFi is optional: included with Internet 1 Gig, $10/mo on the 100 and 500 tiers.
The Express Connect Kit lets most homes install Spectrum themselves at no extra charge; Spectrum estimates 15–30 minutes once it arrives. If you would rather have a technician, professional installation is $50. New accounts pay a one-time service activation fee with either option.
