The promo prices are the same on each at 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps and 1 Gig. What differs is the upload, which matches the download only on fiber, and the 5 Gig and 8 Gig tiers, which fiber alone offers in select areas.

Optimum's FCC filings cover 2,189 ZIP codes in 21 states: cable in 2,182 of them and fiber in 817, most of the fiber ZIPs in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Your ZIP opens a results page that lists each network separately, with the share of the ZIP it reports. We confirm the street address by phone.

It shows Optimum at the ZIP level, with fiber and cable listed separately and the share of the ZIP each covers. It cannot confirm one address, because carriers self-report coverage by census block. Call and we check your street address for both networks before you commit.

Either, depending on the address. Where a self-install kit is offered, Optimum mails it with instructions. Where professional installation is required, or you ask for it, Optimum sends a technician; that visit may carry a one-time professional installation charge. The address check shows which options you have.
Not on the internet side: Optimum sells residential internet without an annual term, so leaving carries no early termination fee. A price lock, where Optimum offers one, keeps the base internet rate fixed for the period named in the offer; on eligible plans that period can reach five years. The promise runs from Optimum to you, not the other way, and it applies to the base service rate alone; taxes, fees, surcharges and optional add-ons are outside it.
On 1 Gig fiber tiers, Optimum includes the Gateway 6E / WiFi 6E router without a monthly charge. Every other tier uses a Smart WiFi router, which can mean a monthly equipment charge, depending on the plan and the market; on the cable rows the table puts it at up to $10/mo. A gateway from Optimum is required for delivery and support on most plans, so bringing your own equipment is limited; ask us on the call what your chosen plan allows.
Adding a new service, yes. We check what your address can add (internet, TV, an Optimum Mobile line or Home Phone) and quote the current promotion with the rate that follows. Billing questions and changes to services you already have are handled by Optimum, not by our line.
